Quick answer

The boss roster runs from the Minecrawler Queen (Ch2) through golems, trolls and the undead-orc guardians up to the Sleeper (Ch6). The hardest aren't the highest-HP — the Troll (1000 HP) and the Varrag-class undead orcs (1000 HP / 8000 XP) punish bad armor, while the Sleeper can't be out-DPS'd at all. Need the build first? Boss roster & stats

Sort by HP to gauge raw bulk, or by difficulty to plan your order. Note the gap between bulk and threat: the Fire Golem has only 150 HP but a brutal pattern, while the Minecrawler Queen can be skipped entirely.

HP/XP are the Gothic-1 baseline reused by these databases — authoritative-but-verify for the shipped Remake.

Difficulty tier list

Where each fight sits once you know the trick. The Final tier is its own thing — the Sleeper is a scripted vulnerability fight, not a damage race.

Minecrawler Queen

  1. 1

    Dodge the spit

She opens at range with a spit attack — strafe out of it before you close.

💡 Don't sprint straight in; her spit tracks.

  2. 2

    Dodge inside her forward sweep

Roll into the first hit of her 3-hit combo so the other two whiff past you.

💡 Inside, not away — distance lets all three land.

  3. 3

Dodge the right swipe, then wait

Sidestep the right swipe and wait out the rest of her combo without committing.

  4. 4

Land one strong hit, back off

Punish with a single heavy swing, then retreat to reset. Repeat until she drops.

Skip the fight

You don't have to kill her — the objective is the eggs scattered around the arena. Grab them while she's mid-combo and leave. If you do want the 2000 XP, the Orc Hammer's speed and damage trivialize the whole pattern.

Minecrawler Queen render
The Minecrawler Queen guards the eggs deep in the Abandoned Mine.

Golems

  1. 1

    Read the Arcanum Golem books

"Arcanum Golem Vol I & II" in the Water Mage library spell out each golem's weakness before you engage.

  2. 2

    Stone golem → blunt

Hit it with a hammer — Orc Hammer or Stonebreaker. Edge weapons barely scratch it.

💡 Same rule as skeletons: blunt beats stone.

  3. 3

    Fire golem → Ball Lightning

One full charge plus one half charge is a clean KO. No magic? Use blunt I-frame swings instead.

💡 Don't block the fire golem — swing through its attack with I-frames.

  4. 4

    Ice / non-stone → match the element

Non-stone golems need a beefy elemental spell that matches their damage type.

💡The bridge golems gate Ch4

The Bridge Golems (250 HP) guard the path to Xardas' tower in Chapter 4 — you can't skip them, so bring a blunt weapon or your elemental runes before you start the climb.

Fire golem render
The Fire Golem has only 150 HP but a punishing pattern — Ball Lightning ends it fast.

Trolls

  1. 1

    Kite if you can

Ranged is the safest answer — a bow or runes whittle 1000 HP down while you keep distance.

  2. 2

    Melee: hit, strafe left

If you must brawl, land a hit then immediately strafe left out of its swing.

  3. 3

    Hit, strafe right, repeat

Mirror the pattern — hit, strafe right — and never stand still long enough to eat a full swing.

💡 A single troll hit through light armor can one-shot you.

⚠️Don't brawl underequipped

Trolls demand heavy armor and perfect timing. With 1000 HP on the adult and 2000 XP on the line, an underleveled melee attempt is a reload — kite it instead until your gear catches up.

Troll render
The adult Troll soaks 1000 HP — kite it unless your armor and timing are flawless.

The Sleeper

  1. 1

    Clear the temple guardians

The Varrag-class undead orcs (1000 HP / 8000 XP) and Grash Varrag Arushat block the way in — bring heavy armor and a Master 2H.

  2. 2

    Activate the Eye of Innos

This is not a raw-DPS fight. Use the Eye of Innos to expose the Sleeper's vulnerability — without it, nothing lands.

💡 Damage means nothing until the Eye opens its weakness.

  3. 3

    Banish it with Uriziel

Only the sword Uriziel can banish the Avatar of Beliar. One form, one final encounter — everything you've built toward.

It's a script, not a damage race

Hammering the Sleeper with your best weapon does nothing on its own. The fight is gated behind the temple item: Eye of Innos to expose, Uriziel to banish. Read the Chapter 6 walkthrough for the exact endgame route and the endings it unlocks.

Sleeper & boss FAQ

How do I beat the Sleeper?

You can't out-damage it. Activate the Eye of Innos to expose its vulnerability, then banish it with the sword Uriziel. Both are required temple items — without them, your hits do nothing.

What is the hardest boss?

By raw threat, the Varrag-class undead orcs (1000 HP / 8000 XP) and the adult Troll (1000 HP) punish bad gear hardest. The Sleeper is its own category — a scripted vulnerability fight rather than a DPS check.

Can I skip the Minecrawler Queen?

Yes. The objective is the eggs around her arena, not her death. Grab them mid-combo and leave, or use the Orc Hammer to take the 2000 XP if you want the kill.

Which weapon beats stone golems?

Blunt. The Orc Hammer or Stonebreaker work; edged weapons barely dent stone. Read "Arcanum Golem Vol I & II" in the Water Mage library for every golem's weakness.
